Take Over Melbourne Winner!

We are delighted to celebrate Sam Ellis as a winner of the ABC Take Over Melbourne competition, with his story of how music changed his life.

Sam has been a mighty creative force at Jets over the past few years, contributing his passion, vision, and drive as a participant in the ‘New Hope Hip Hop Program’, steering our youth run record label ‘Jets Records’ as the Record Executive in 2019, and sharing the story of his personal journey through the BYS ‘NoteWorthy’ Podcast, which formed his initial Take Over Melbourne entry this year.

To find out more about Take Over Melbourne, and Sam’s story, please visit www.abc.net.au/takeover

PERFORMER OPPORTUNITIES

Chillin’ in Banyule is on the lookout for muso's and singers, who live, work, study or play in Banyule, and are keen for some local gigs in January and February 2021!

We are on the lookout for a range of different vocal artists who suit a 'relaxed Sunday afternoon' or 'after work drinks vibe' for live performances at local cafes and restaurants.

If you are interested, please email arts@banyule.vic.gov.au  with the subject line 'Chillin' in Banyule'.

Youth Market Space

Banyule Youth have been supporting young makers to get their creations out to a wider audience in our new Market Space project.

We've offered training on business basics, a social media campaign and a dedicated webpage that highlights young makers and their creations.

In many cases, our young makers use ethical products and practices and donate a portion of proceeds to a chosen charity. In the lead up to the holiday season, we urge you to consider supporting young locals when looking for unique gifts. We would also welcome more young people who would like to be part of Market Space. They need to be aged 12 -25 and have some connection to Banyule (live, work, study, play) to get involved.

To purchase from local makers or to sign up to be a showcased young maker, head to:

www.banyuleyouth.com/marketspace  or contact Naomi Simmonds E: Naomi.simmonds@banyule.vic.gov.au   M: 0422 560 109
