Today I set the Year 5 and Year 6 students a simple writing.
Their task was to write a sentence or two about what they value about IPS.
Why?
Because our students have attended school through a pandemic. They are the first in an age to have experienced lock downs, lock ins and restricted movement since war time. Because we dont want to take for granted what they are feeling, what they are concerned about - and how we, as adults, might step up to the plate and advocate and seize this opportunity to improve our education system and support every child.

What I like about I.P.S is that all the teachers are nice and you learn lots from them. Most of the subjects are really great too. I’ve learnt a lot from all the subjects I’ve been taught. There are also a lot of people to get to know and be friends with so you are never really get lonely. I really like I.P.S.

I think Ivanhoe Primary School is very accepting and welcoming. Lots of staff members are friendly and so are the students. You’d probably find at least one person who could be your friend. This is what I like about Ivanhoe Primary School.

My favourite things about Ivanhoe Primary School are the specialist subjects, like music, art and Italian, because they make school more interesting than just the standard subjects. Math, reading and writing are fine, but it is always exciting to learn something else!

What I like about I.P.S is how flexible the school can be regarding the students learning needs. Another likable details about this school is how supportive the staff are when times are tough. All of the activities organised are fun and help us make friends, discover new passions and come closer together as a community.

Ivanhoe Primary School is an amazing cradle of knowledge and education. Some of my personal favourite parts of school are the friends you make along the way, the life lessons one learns their and how nice the teachers are. I.P.S takes all of these above and beyond. I am so grateful for getting educated at such a fantastic place! Oh, and the new building is very eye-catching and modern looking. I.P.S. is truly AWESOME!

This school is incredible and is so underrated. You guys always put so much effort into finding great teachers also you guys put so much money into the playgrounds and the classroom.

What I like about I.P.S is everyone is so friendly here, it’s a great learning environment. All the teachers are amazing here and really help expand your learning. The food at the canteen is great and there’s a huge variety of food choice. The specialists are great. This school is fantastic and I’ve loved my time here.

What I like about IPS is that everyone is friendly. All the teachers are kind and you learn heaps of things from the teachers. You do lots of fun projects plus it’s easy to make kind and caring friends. There’s something for everyone. I have learnt so much since prep and made a lot of memories to take with me to high school and I’m looking forward to making more this year.

What I like about Ivanhoe Primary School is that there are many facilities to learn in and I’ve got lots of supportive staff around the school. I also like how the school community shows a huge amount of care and consideration for myself, others and our ideas. My favourite part of the school here at I.P.S is all the leadership roles and opportunities you have to try out for.

Ivanhoe Primary School is a spectacular school because of the teachers and the learning environment. The teachers at Ivanhoe Primary School help you understand things and they help you reach your learning goal. Ivanhoe Primary School has a great learning environment for focusing and having fun. But, it’s not just their environment that makes the rooms happy it’s also the people in the room such as the teachers and your friends. Ivanhoe Primary also makes sure that you get the exercise you need for example when we have P.E and at lunch time! We also find new talents like in music, Italian and art. The people in the office are great because they help people when you need it!
Mr. Kent is an amazing principal because he sets good rules and he encourages everybody to try their best and be their best self! Their values at our school are Respect, Resilience, Independence, Persistence and confidence. That’s why Ivanhoe Primary School is a spectacular school!

I like I.P.S because of its loving and caring teachers that help you learn. I also enjoy that they have a balance with subjects and play time. I love P.E the most because of the physical activity to strengthen muscles and strengthen your mind and strategies.
You will always be confident when you are in Foundation with our Year 4 buddy. Last year, I had a Foundation buddy always looking up to me and when I was in Foundation the same thing happened. So that’s why I love I.P.S.

Ivanhoe Primary is a great school. There are very nice teachers. Most years you will get a go at going for a leadership role. We have very kind staff in the office and a good Principal. All the teachers make sure you feel safe and comfortable being in the classroom. All our specialist teachers are very kind and teach you a lot. We have 5 school values which are confidence, independence, persistence, resilience and respect. I love the value `Respect’ because it means people are aware of others and are kind to each other. So, I think Ivanhoe Primary is a really good school where you will feel safe and comfortable.
