'Seeing the world through a different lens.'

Fantasy Keys

Our middle and senior students have been working on being brave with their creative ideas . Their fantasy keys  which are made from recycled materials are truly wonderful. These keys are currently on display in the school office.

As a school we will be participating in Earth Hour on Friday 25th March. The students and staff, during parts of their day, will be working without any power. This includes lights, air conditioning, computers, ipads, laptops, microphones, photo copiers, kettles, interactive whiteboards, LED screens, microwaves, printers, mobile phones etc. The rest of the world will be doing the same on Saturday 26th March. Maybe you could join in at home and have an hour without power? This is a list of some of the suggestions that the children came up with;

Playing board or card games, Lying in sleeping bags and telling spooky stories, Playing outdoor ball games, Going for a walk, Doing drawing or painting, Writing a letter to Grandparents, Playing music on a guitar or other instrument, Puzzles, Making a fire in a fire pit and watching the flames instead of tv., Toast marshmallows, Make and eat fruit kebabs, Playing with a pet, Playing with lego, Making a cubby house under a table, Origami or scrap booking, Make something like a kite to play with the next day, Read a book or read a story to someone, Make up stories to make your family laugh, Plan a holiday or day trip and think of cool things to do on your holiday, Eat an ice-cream as you walk along the beach, Make a treasure hunt and search for things in your house , Hide and seek.

What ever you decide to do, have fun with it.

ANZAC DAY

We are putting together a hall display to honor our family members who have served as a member of the armed forces, peace keeping missions, war nurses and medical staff. The country of service does not need to be Australia.

I already have many families' photos (from previous years display), however, I do not have many from junior school area.

If you would like to add your family member to our display please send me a copy of your photo and a little information regarding the person and how they are related to your student at our school by Wednesday March 30th.

I will need to have the display organised before the school holidays begin. Thank you as always for your support.
