Technology News

As usual there's been heaps happening in Technology. Here are some of the highlights as captured by the students:

Virtual Reality

We have nearly finished giving all 3-6 Students their first opportunity to experience Virtual Reality (meeting the small virtual pet named Bogo) and will be moving on to a new VR experience which is just as cool, and very different.

3D Printing

More and more students are putting the 3D Printers to work now. Those with the most experience are beginning to help others to design and produce all of these unique and interesting objects.

Some students have been creating designs at home too, bringing all sorts of designs back to the classroom.

Laser Cutting and Woodwork

As students  have built their skills, we've seen a huge growth in woodworking creations during technology classes.

Robotics

New student groups are now moving onto our Robot kits, investigating, building and controlling the machines.

Minecraft

Our sustainable farms are evolving at a crazy rate, with farmhouses, automation and intricate designs now emerging.

Typing Challengers

A lot more students are taking up the opportunity to learn to touch-type. So many, that we've had to set up some leader-boards in the Technology space for the competitive touch-typers.

The website students are using is Typing Club (https://www.typingclub.com/) which is free, and even has a kids-mode for younger learners.

During Friday lunches students will have the opportunity to put their practice into action and put their name on the score board.

Stay Creative!
