Hello RHPS Artists,
The art room was buzzing last Thursday as art club was back! It had been a long time coming, but our Art Captains, Bobbie and Ally, opened the doors and we lost count around 60 students.
We made friendship bracelets and had drawing activities on offer. Everyone helped everyone. There was sharing, kind words, fun and laughter. It was a beautiful atmosphere, which has been missed. We even had Ms. Allan and Ms. Peirce drop in to help.
Our Art Captains will keep the club running every Thursday at lunchtime, everyone is welcome.
The junior school have once again had a big two weeks.
Preps explored primary colours and experimented with colour mixing. They did such a wonderful job and were all very responsible and clever painters.
Our Grade1/2 artists persisted with a second coat of papier mache for their Hairy Maclary and Peter Rabbit characters and this week we added our coats of paint. Next is the extra fun part where we will add all the details to bring our artwork to life and give it personality.
I also wanted to share some spectacular science work that our Grade 1/2s have been working on. To continue our work with Minibeasts, the students were given the task to design and make their favourite minibeast. They needed to think about its features and come up with a creative way to make it. We watched them bring their art and science knowledge to life and below is an example of what we have created so far.
Have a great week ahead and we look forward to sharing more art news!
Keep Creating,
Mrs. Granger
