YEAR 9 SURREALIST COLLAGE

Our Year 9 students have been busy working in Adobe Photoshop to create Surrealist collages. It was wonderful to see students stepping out of their comfort zone to work with an unfamiliar application to create unique masterpieces!

Below are some examples of the artworks completed for this task.

This is a Surrealist artwork of NBA player Ja Morant dunking with space in the background. I also added an eye in the background and replaced the court with water to make it more surreal. Another thing I did to achieve this was I made the ball bigger than it should be and used the shatter effect on it. To make it more realistic I added shadows to the player and the ball.

In this artwork that I have created, I used a software application called Photoshop. The inspiration that I had in creating this artwork was when my family was eating dinner and it was pizza. With my procrastinated mind without any ideas, I looked at the pizza and we joked about how it looked like a farm from how much green there was, which led to me create this. I had made this in hope to define the contrast between a typical junk food along with the nature and authenticity of the farm.

This artwork was inspired by my obsession with the ocean, creatures, water and swimming. I decided to add all my favourite things into one image. I decided to choose one of my favourite animals from the ocean which is a shark as a shark is fearless and that inspires me.
