ANGLES IN MY NAME ACTIVITY – YEAR 7 MATH

Over the past term, us Year 7s have been focusing on the topic Geometry and how to use and apply all the rules and terms correctly.

At first, we started off with the basics and learned how to master the names of the different angles and how to use the protractor. After getting the hang of it, we slowly started moving onto bigger angles which helped challenge us but also help improve our skills with the protractor. One of the activities that we did to help us find and measure different angles was by writing our name out in blocky letters on some gridded paper and using a protractor to try and find as many angles as we could.

Once we had mastered the basics, we started to move towards finding the missing numbers of angle ‘a’ and angle ‘b’ and how to add them up together using the methods that we learned earlier on. To help us solve these questions, we would have class discussions and jot down some notes that we would need for the future.

Learning about Geometry was both enjoyable and challenging at the same time, and I learned quite a lot from my math lessons. Thanks for reading!
