COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN LEARNING
As a new team member at Epping Secondary College I am excited to come to the school as Assistant Principal – Community Engagement in Learning. I will send out communication throughout the year about this, beginning today with explaining what Community Engagement in Learning is, and focusing on this specifically in regard to our students, families and carers.
The more involvement students, families, carers and the wider community have with their local school, the better the outcomes for students. To achieve this, drawing on all available resources for students, engaging families and carers and creating a sense of community that exists beyond the educational framework positions Epping Secondary College to offer students every opportunity to develop to their full potential and become respectful global citizens.
At Epping Secondary College we strive to build a strong school community where our students establish positive relationships with their teachers and with the many people in the school, and beyond, who are there to support them. Within the school we do this through encouraging open, honest, respectful communication.
In the first instance, students, families and carers should contact home group and/or classroom teachers if they have subject or general queries. Beyond this student managers should be the next point of call, as they can assist and refer on to other school members as appropriate. Please encourage your child to reach out to these people if there is anything they need assistance or support with. Our student managers are:
Year 7 | Peter Kaskamanidis & Jo Petrevska |
Year 8 | Danielle Patti & Lia Privitelli |
Year 9 | Sue Flint & Eleni Neocleous |
Year 10 | Oliver Williams & Laurie Naismith |
Year 11 & 12 | Giovanna Hill, Colleen Hart & Michelle Robertshawe |
If there is anything you would like to discuss in regard to Community Engagement in Learning, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
