SMASHED PERFORMANCE 16th February 2022:

Year 9 students had the privilege of watching the interactive live performance called Smashed on 16th February. The performance gave students the opportunity to explore and understand the dangers of underage drinking. It is a hard-hitting, interactive, live multi-media performance on the risks associated with underage drinking. Students watch a performance about 3 friends who find themselves in trouble as a result of their misuse of alcohol.

An interactive workshop follows the play and students are invited to probe the cast on any of the issues brought up during the show. The last exercise involved the students being the director and they were able to offer suggestions on how to combat peer pressure to the actors in order to change the outcome of the play.

Smashed explores the life-changing effects of alcohol – impacting health, safety, relationships, and career aspirations.

Working together we can equip teenagers with the skills, knowledge and confidence to combat peer pressure and say no to drinking underage

Smashed Performance

The team at Smashed performances gave the year 9s a lot to think about, throughout the performance they covered the topic of underage drinking and the dangers that come with it. It was an interactive, funny but also informative performance.

In the show Tj, Jack and Brodie are high school kids, who would go to the footy field to get drunk and have fun. One night Tj invited Brodie and Jack to his house for a party, and then TJ and Jack get into a fight. Brodie tried to break it and fell onto some broken glass which left her with serious injuries. The relationship between Brodie, TJ and Jack was impacted and she did not see them again. The moral of the story is that underage drinking is bad and dangerous and shouldn't be done. Thank you for the performance.
