Peer Support Program 2022

The Peer Support Program at Epping Secondary College takes place in term 1.  Year10 students are carefully selected, put into small groups and run 2 year 7 Learning For Life lessons. It’s all about building positive relationships between some of our older and younger students. Our Peer Support Training day took place in the library on Friday February 11th. It was a great day where students devised their own lesson plans to run the upcoming year 7 sessions. The student leadership team also came along and ran 2 sessions on the day - needless to say, our student leaders all demonstrated why they were chosen as our student leaders - they presented well, were kind, empathetic and engaging. See who they are in another article in this newsletter. Our wellbeing team of Ms. Halsall and Georgia ran a wonderful session on mindfulness and engaging year 7’s.

The next Peer Support training program for 2023 will be run in November for 2022 year 9’s. We will let you know the closer to the date how to nominate yourself - hot tip: we are looking for students who are good role models for 2023’s year 7’s!
