Appropriate use of technology/phones at Mater Dei

All Mater Dei students are expected to use their phones responsibly and have been reminded that phones are a privilege, not a right. This privilege comes with clear College expectations around acceptable use.  If students have a phone at school it is an expectation that they use it responsibly.

This includes:

not using it is class unless in line with learning and approved by your teacher

not violating the rights of others (eg. videoing anyone, including staff, without their permission, or videoing things that others may view as degrading, intimidated or harassed)

not using your phone or content on your phone in a way that may make another person feel uncomfortable.

Parents/carers are thanked for their support with the College’s expectations around appropriate and responsible use of technology, and are encouraged to continue this discussion at home with their child.

You might like to refer to tips from the esaftey office iParent website for more information about supporting your children in their understanding of appropriate mobile phone use.
