Student Update -

Academic Care and Wellbeing

Mater Dei Catholic College has a highly committed Wellbeing Team who assist with providing appropriate supports to enhance student learning and wellbeing. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact your child’s House Leader to discuss how we can best support your child.

Additionally, Ms Anne Hodkinson, Mater Dei’s College Psychologist similarly works in a consultative, resourceful and supportive manner with a strong focus on achieving the best outcomes for students. Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact a member of the Wellbeing Team as needed.

Grandparents Day 2019

Today Mater Dei welcomed Year 7 Grandparents to celebrate Grandparents Day. In line with 2019 Catholic Schools week, Year 7 hosted the day by promoting our school community and displaying an appreciation of their extended families. Representatives from our Year 7 cohort started the day with a welcome address and by leading us in prayer.

Insight into the College’s contemporary learning environments followed, along with a tour of the campus led by the Year 7 students. Students walked their grandparents through the College facilities noting particular interest points such as the new Marian Centre, G Block open learning centre, Visual Arts rooms, Science learning areas, the Glasshouse, Pear Tree Cafe, Resource Centre and College oval.

On behalf of our College community, our thanks is extended to all who joined us for the day. It was a pleasure meeting the extended families of our students and witnessing the joy their presence brought to our Year 7 students.
