Covid 19 Update

Thank you to our community for the great job they have done in keeping our school as safe as possible by following important COVIDSafe measures such as mask wearing, physical distancing, ventilation, getting vaccinated and rapid antigen testing. This has meant that our school has remained open and our students in class. This is a fantastic outcome and a testament to the hard work of parents/carers, students and school staff. To date, we have tracked approximately 40 students with COVID-19 during Term 1. It is indeed very evident that COVID-19 is still very present in our local community and everyone’s vigilance is still very necessary. Each family has now been equipped with sufficient Rapid Antigen Tests to hopefully undertake twice weekly testing for the remainder of the school term with another box to go home next week.   We thank families for working very closely with the school and for screening until the end of term ensuring we continue to identify COVID-19 cases as early as possible, reducing the impact on our school and individuals.

 Un-Explained Absences

Our unexplained absences at Launching Place Primary School are starting to creep up as the term comes near an end. We are grateful to the parents who have been using Compass to put their child's reason for absence. if you are having any issue with Compass you can call the school office to put your child's absence on Compass. This changes the absence from unexplained to explained. A reminder to enter the absence note on Compass or call the school office if your child is going to be absent from school.

Parents are asked to please ensure that the correct time date and time frame is selected when sending absence notifications. Compass has two sessions : AM (9:00am – 12:00pm) and PM (12:30pm – 3:30pm). Please be careful with selecting the appropriate dates and times for the duration of your child’s absence.

Anzac Day, 25th April, marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
