Vinnies Christmas Appeal

Over the past five weeks students, staff and their families have been kindly donating Christmas, food, drinks and toys for our 2016, St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal.

It is a true representation of our Christian mission to support the less fortunate.

Vinnies does wonderful work in the Riverina all year long and reminds us that Christmas can be a very sad time for those who are alone,  unwell, less fortunate and those who are struggling.

We feel very privileged to present these gifts from our community. We are continually reminded of the generosity and support of Mater Dei families. You have given the gift of hope to many this Christmas.

In Matthew’s Gospel, Chapter 5 we can read about the Beatitudes, nine Statements of Reflection, in which Jesus foretells how our actions on earth, will reflect our heavenly reward, statements like;

Blessed are those who hunger

and thirst for righteousness,

    for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

    for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

    for they will see God.

 and Blessed are the peacemakers,

    for they will be called children of God.

After weeks of collecting gifts and food donations every morning, we are pleased to showcase these gifts for the less fortunate members of our Wagga Wagga community.

Your contributions will make all the difference for those who hunger and thirst, you have shown mercy and delivered peace to many this Christmas.

We would like to thank St Vincent De Paul Wagga, and the work of the many hard working volunteers, because of you, we know these gifts will go to the most needy families in our community.
