YR 3 & 4

BASTERFIELD PARK

On Tuesday 15th March, the Year 3 and 4 students travelled to Basterfield Park as part of our Sustainability unit. Students worked in teams to identify the quality of the water at the park by examining and identifying water bugs found in water samples. The students determined that the signal score of the water was between a 1-2 after identifying many living things in the water including water boatmen, tadpoles, dragonflies, and mosquitofish. 

The children relished the chance to travel and work together as a whole cohort and put into practice the skills and understandings they had been learning in class. A big thank you to Mr Mouncer for providing science equipment and to all the parent volunteers for making the day possible.
