END OF YEAR STUDENT REPORTS

Due to the ongoing effects of coronavirus and the transition to remote/home learning for much of Semester 2 the Department of Education and Training has adjusted the expectations of Student Reports for Semester 2.

While our school has continued to deliver its teaching and learning program and monitor the achievement and progress of each student, there has once again been some unprecedented changes to our usual program.

At Carnegie Primary School, we know it is vital to involve students and their parents/carers in learning. This process includes providing written reports on student learning. We will be providing a written report, via Compass, for each student for Semester 2. Reports will be modified to reflect the semester we have had. Our reports will include information on student learning in the areas of literacy and numeracy as well as specialist areas.

Thank you for your ongoing support during remote and home learning.

GRADE STRUCTURES FOR 2022

We have an expected 2022 enrolment of approximately 570 students. I anticipate we will run 25 classes. We will have 4 prep grades, 4 grade ones, 4 grade twos, 4 grade threes, 3 grade fours, 3 grade fives and 3 grade 6 classes. Education support officer time will be in all teams of varying time fractions depending on class structures. Further details will be shared with families over the coming weeks with all families knowing their 2022 classes prior to the end of term. As part of our school’s transition program we organise ‘Stepping Up’ times into our program a little later this term. On these occasions children step their next year’s level visiting learning spaces and teachers. They will know their specific class teacher before we finish up for the holidays.

CURRICULUM DAY – FRIDAY 17th DECEMBER

Our Curriculum Day planned for term 3 was cancelled due to our move to home learning. School Council has approved a Curriculum Day on Friday 17th December.

In light of this, the school year for our students and families will end on Thursday 16th December. Please pop this date into your diaries. There will be no school for children on this day but Youth Leadership will be offering a program for families.
