Congratulations

This week the Drama Department is celebrating the exciting news that BMGS has again had two films placed on the shortlist for the Bell Shakespeare Shorts Film Festival, and as such are national finalists.  The challenge was to retell or reimagine Shakespeare on film.  further information may be found on:

We congratulate Will Gee, Ras Darwin, Parag Datta and Trin Camilleri for their film, War of the Roses - The Untold House, and Jack Napier Rowney, Brynn Gerrard, Rowan Elliot, Skye Wiseman, Angus Herron, Charlie Burgess, Ava Adams, Ana Swait, Reagan Lloyd, Richard Cunningham, Ellie Molla, Eva Passlow, Jayden Gibson, Layla Davis and Luca Saunders for their film, There Will Be Blood

This is an outstanding result for BMGS, as we are the only School listed twice on the shortlist, from our total submissions of 12 films, and this is the second successive year BMGS has featured in the shortlist of this prestigious competition.

The shortlisted films will now be reviewed by Bell's judging panel: Peter Evans (Artistic Director, Bell Shakespeare), Geraldine Hakewill (Actor), Hilary Bell (Writer), and Chris Tan (2020 Bell Shakespeare Shorts Festival winner).  The online awards ceremony will take place over Zoom on the evening of Wednesday, 27th October, with winning films screened.

We congratulate all Stage 5 students who worked so hard to produce such quality films.
