Junior School

Since making the announcement last week regarding my departure from our beloved school at the end of the year I have been thoroughly overwhelmed by the many messages of kindness and support from our community. I am so grateful for the generosity of spirit and kindness you have accorded me. It reminds me of what makes our school community so very special. At many times it feels like we are part of a big, supportive, happy family. You have certainly made me feel like that. Thank you.

And now on to matters ahead of us! As you know, we are looking forward to getting back to School next week, firstly with Early Learning and then with everyone from 25th October. 

We realise that some families may still prefer to keep children at home for the time being. If this is the case for your family, please communicate with Mrs Arrell or Mrs Boros so that we know and so that we can plan a suitable learning model for your children.

Year 4 students and their families are eagerly anticipating finding out more about their options of enrolling in the Discovery Class or the Performing Arts Class in 2022. We are putting the finishing touches to our information packages which have necessarily been affected by COVID restrictions and our lack of ability to welcome parents onsite. We expect to be able to share this information and the process moving forward next week, so if you are the parent of a Year 4 child be on the lookout for that particular communication.

Finally, a word if your child is expressing anxiety about returning to school. Please let us know, we are here to help you. The teachers and I are very keen to spend the children’s first day or two back at school reconnecting. It is almost like the first day of a new school year. We will all be out and about in the morning on Monday, looking to welcome back the children, many of whom we haven’t seen since mid-June! If you are looking for suggestions on how to ease the process of return please get in touch with your child’s teacher, our friendly front office staff or me and we will do our utmost to assist you.
