CPB careers in Construction session

With CPB holding many major contracts in Western Sydney this will be an incredible session for any students interested in careers not only in construction but in their administrative and corporate functions.  Wednesday Oct 13th at 5.30pm

Health Heroes in the Pandemic session

This session includes such an incredible panel from Senior Advisor in the Office of the Health Officer to Workforce development Manager, to Physiotherapist and OT, to ICU nurse and a Doctor. They will share on their roles, pathways including non traditional pathways and the ways Covid has changed their roles. Its not often we get access to these health professionals and especially through a pandemic.  Thursday Oct 14th at 10:00am

Careers in Retail session with Big W

This session will have the Recruitment and workforce development team at BIG W tell us about current vacancies, what they look for, how they recruit, Industry needs and how to apply. This will be a great session for students wanting to pursue some of the many store and corporate based retail careers and as well as students who would like a part time or casual role while they study. TAFE Higher Education Awareness session

This session showcases the TAFE higher education offerings that are available. After talking to many Career Advisors and Teachers, these options are less know so we organised a quick 45 min session so we can all be more informed. I have re attached the flyer.  The Session will be on Wednesday Oct 20th at 3.30pm

PWC Higher Apprenticeship Program

Price Waterhouse Cooper have a Higher Apprenticeship program for school leavers and are opening up applications on the 18th of October for the 2022 Intake. This is a two year Higher apprenticeship program and will be located at their Sydney offices in Barrangaroo.

They are running an information session on Wednesday night for interested students and parents if this could be of interest to any of your Year 12 school leavers who would like to consider an alternative pathway to develop business and technology skills and a qualification in IT.

To register for the event CLICK HERE or click through on the registration link on the attached flyer.  The PwC Higher Apprenticeship Program offers an alternative option to university for individuals who are primarily school leavers. Students can join straight out of school and develop business and technology skills to work towards a qualification in I.T. And with study support there no course fees or the costs for textbooks and materials. Applications open and there are thirteen places available for 2022 in Sydney.

 

This program enables students to combine full time work in a Professional Services Environment whilst studying towards qualifications in Information Technology.

The Higher Apprenticeship Program (Happs) is a two year program, after which apprentices will have the opportunity to join the firm as a graduate.

 

There are two parts to the Happs Program;

  1. Certificate IV in Information Technology: Comprised of 20 units of study across 12 months (Feb 2022 to Dec 2022)
  2. Diploma of Information Technology: approx. 20 units of study across 12 months (Jan 2023 to Dec 2023)
  • Nationally recognised qualification (likely delivered by TAFE NSW) supported and endorsed by Training Services in each state (traineeship pathway via NSW Training Services)
  • Higher apprentices must complete both qualifications and be successfully performing on the job to be considered for a graduate role.
  • The Apprentice program runs in Sydney across Technology Consulting, Risk Assurance, Analytics, Economics and Policy, Digital Technology Services, and Customer Experience and Insights

Ideal Candidate profiles:

  • Has recently completed year 12 (VCE/HSC) or completing in 2021.
  • Prefers hands on learning and experiential learning rather than reading theory
  • Limited work experience (may have held a part time job after school and on weekends)
  • Learned skills through sports and hobbies
  • Ability to work onsite at PWC at Barrangaroo
