Principal's Report
Achieving Excellence Together”
I hope everyone is safe and healthy and looking forward to returning to face-to-face learning.
As we slowly return to face-to-face teaching we are VERY excited to see everyone back at school.
Belonging, connection and re-engagement will be a priority for our school in term four.
A student’s sense of belonging at school is strongly influenced by relationships. This sense of belonging drives academic motivation, a critical precursor for effective learning.
When a student feels like they belong, they feel safe, respected, included and accepted. These are the strong foundations from which learning can occur. Without a strong foundation of belonging, students may achieve lower academically.
When we return to face-to-face teaching teachers will not only focus on the academic of Literacy and Numeracy but also focus on strong relationships and enjoyment at school. Allowing time to re-establish and build relationships.
Students may find themselves more fatigued on returning to school. This break from school has been different from a typical school holiday. Followed by weeks of remote learning, the increase in social contact alone may be tiring for some students.
Teachers will ensure students know they are there for their personal and emotional support, not just support for their school work.
We ALL have a part to play in keeping the physical health of our school community safe.
Last week I communicated all the steps we will enforce to ensure the safety of EVERYONE.
If you have missed this notification please ensure you read through this communication carefully on SENTRAL.
The following is a visual that is around the school to remind us all of our obligations.
In each classroom, students will also see the following poster.
This poster will be a visual reminder of the actions our students need to take to minimise risk and maintain physical health. Linked to our school values students will not only focus on reconnecting and reengaging with their friends and their learning but only keep their physical health safe.
To assist with our COVID-19 Safe Plan please ensure that is you are feeling unwell that you stay at home and get tested.
If you or anyone in your family have tested positive to COVID-19 that you are following the directions of DHS and notify our school of your situation by calling the office on 9303 9335. It is important that with the return to face-to-face teaching that we remain open and safe.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me via email: principal@roxburghparkps.vic.edu.au
Looking forward to another semester full of respect, learning and co-operation!!!
