Principal's Update

Welcome back to another term!

1/2A are excited to be back!
1/2A are excited to be back!

As we undergo a staged return to school, I would like to remind all families that under the current school operation guidelines, we are required to limit the number of people we have on site to essential visitors only.  We also ask that parents and carers do not enter any classrooms or corridors when picking up/dropping off students to school and, where possible, that students are dropped off and met at the school gate.

Families are also asked to please ensure that students do not attend if they are unwell, even if they are presenting with mild symptoms.  Students presenting with cold and flu-like symptoms will be required to go home.

Next week, we look forward to our older students returning to face-to-face teaching two days a week. As previously advised, this staged return means that, for the next two weeks, students in Years 3-4 will attend onsite on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while students in Years 5-6 will attend on Thursdays and Fridays.  When not onsite, students in these year levels will continue to participate in Remote and Flexible learning.  Please note that in Weeks 2 & 3, Art, French and PE will now be delivered remotely on Mondays, rather than Wednesdays.

With all students expected to be back at school by Tuesday October 26th, we have rescheduled our Book Week Parade for Friday 29th October.

During Week 3, students will also have the opportunity to participate in an online Musica Viva concert called 'Taking Shape'.  This performance is interactive and will teach students to listen, generate ideas, and explore the way melodies are “shaped”.

Under the current restrictions, camps, excursions and incursions are unable to take place at this time.  As a result, we have had to postpone Howman’s Gap camp for Year 3&4, which had been scheduled for Week 3.  We will provide further updates as soon as we are able.

Arrangements for 2023 Prep and Year 7 transition programs are also subject to current restrictions and cannot be held at this time.  It is anticipated that further advice will be provided once students return to the classroom on a full-time basis.

A reminder that all children must now wear a school hat when outside.  Could families please ensure any school hats that went home for washing, are returned to school next week.

Planning for our 2022 classes is now underway.  To assist with informing our class placements, families are invited to complete a feedback form for each child currently attending school (Prep-5).
