Maths Olympiad 

Level 5 and 6 

Well done to all twenty-nine Grade 5 & 6 students who participated in the Australasian Problem-Solving Mathematical Olympiads this year. 

Our students had five tests to complete throughout the year that involved them to solve mathematical problems in a creative manner, as opposed to simply reaching a solution using a prescribed method.

The APSMO Maths Olympiad has been operating in primary schools since 1987 and in high schools since 2003. Each year thousands of schools participate in the competition from around Australia and New Zealand.

Our Results 

Congratulations and well done to Stella C and Dylan Q from 6P who both scored in the top 10% of Australia. This is an extraordinary achievement and they should both be very proud of themselves. They both received a special badge and Stella also received a trophy for achieving the highest score within our school. 

Congratulations and well done to Weihan C, Aiden N, Joshua L, Morgan S, Charlotte C, Andrew K, Isobel M, Elise W, and Brian W who scored in the top 25% of Australia. 

A few other special mentions go to Sophia A, Sarah D, Aaron R, Joshua W and Amy Z who scored in the top 30%. Joel Y who scored in the top 40% and Xenya C and Elina P who scored in the top 50%. 

All Maths Olympiad students received a certificate of achievement. Well done to all twenty-nine students for representing our school and excelling in mathematics. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
