Emerging Sciences Victoria
Year 10 students have the opportunity to study an online science subject through John Monash Science School (JMSS) taught by JMSS Leading Teachers. JMSS is offering a number of subjects beginning Semester 2 including:
- Frontiers of Physics - an investigation in astrophysics and astronomy
- Nanotechnology - review the unique properties of substances on the nanoscale
These subjects are open to current Year 10 students and classes run for 50 minutes, twice a week, over a 15-week semester starting in Term 3.
Classes are similar to music lessons - students are excused from existing classes at scheduled times to join and participate in the online classroom. Students will log in to a virtual classroom, and will require a laptop and a headset to participate whilst at their existing school.
If you have a passion for science and would like to learn emerging sciences with students from across Victoria, take a look at the JMSS ESV website - emsci.vic.edu.au which provides information on these subjects.
Places are limited. Please contact Mrs Rieniets by Monday 24 June to register your interest.
