Little Groovin' Guitars

Rock on to the

New Year!

Julia and Angus would like to congratulate all the Little Groovin’ Guitars students for a fantastic 2019 culminating in the rock band workshop and evening concert. This year was our biggest yet with 20 students on stage, packing out the Ruang! Thank you to the school staff and parents for your support - the LGG team and students are lucky to have you.

Junior School Council Information

Purpose of Junior School Council

Junior School Council is one of the school’s leadership programs. A student group aims to understand the issues influencing the students around the school, to problem solve solutions and act on them to improve the school.

JSC provides the opportunity to help achieve our vision

· For a school where all its students, staff and community enjoy coming and where they feel safe and cared for

· To help develop in our students, the means for them to create a more equitable society where individual excellence is celebrated

· Where the learning environment is underpinned by the interdependent partnership of parents, students and staff

· Where all school community members act in a way that reflects Plenty Parklands Primary School values

JSC also provides the opportunity

· To increase student participation in the

school.

· To involve students in decision making.

· To teach students the processes and

protocols to effectively achieve

change.

· To make students aware of and involved in

School Council.

· To develop a caring and responsible attitude

to our school community

· To be aware of wider community decision

making.

· To enhance staff, the School Council and

parent awareness of the students’ needs

and priorities.

Protocols

· JSC to be trained in meeting procedures.

JSC to share office bearers’ roles.

· JSC to develop action plans and put into

practice the correct processes and protocols

for ‘making things happen’.

· A JSC representative to attend School

Council meetings at intervals throughout the

year.

· JSC to be on the agenda at School Council

meetings and either a verbal or a written

School Banking

2020 Treetop Savers Adventure.

This year, the Dollarmites (Pru, Addy, Spen, Lucas

and Pat) are ready to take children on a Treetop

Savers adventure to the enchanted Treehouse of

Savings. Here they’ll discover lots of fun financial

activities and rewards for saving.

Many surveyed parents think it’s important to make learning about money engaging and to reward good saving behaviour*. And this year, we’re changing our School Banking rewards for the better. We’re introducing new eco-friendly and reusable rewards, alongside other rewards that encourage creativity, as well as indoor and outdoor play.

Term 1 rewards are available now,

In light of the recent devastating bushfires, we want to share how we can help. Applications

are now open for Bushfire Recovery Grants to help rebuild community facilities, schools, fire

brigades and replace lost or damaged equipment. Please encourage your local community

groups to apply by 31 March 2020, for grants of up to $50,000. If you’re a CommBank
