Students participating in the Multicultural Cup
Week 4 sees the Primary School start their Book Week celebrations early, with classes from ELC – Year 6 viewing a Japanese Performance about a book called ‘The Peach Boy.’ The ELC to Year 2 saw this performance on Monday, and the Year 3-6 classes saw it on Friday.
Thanks to the Japanese teachers for organising this for the students. This week is also National Science Week and all of the classes from ELC to Year 6 got to see a Science Show in Frassati Hall:
On Tuesday 15 August, the following boys competed in the Multicultural Cup accompanied by Mr Henry Vo and Miss Katarina Schulz:
Joseph Kelly
Joseph Haskey
Campbell Griffiths
Nathaniel Forby
Declan Dunne
Samuel Vanderwoude
Jordan Fogliano
Ethan Renton
Angus Souter
Jack Hodby

Joshua Stodden
Overall the boys came third out of 5 teams. The boys worked well as a team and were positive throughout the day. Their behaviour and sportsmanship was outstanding.
On Tuesday 15 August, 33 students from Year 2 - 6 sat the ICAS Maths test; we will get the results for these later this term. Congratulations to all the students who have sat these papers this year, it is great to see so many of our students attempt these tests.
On Thursday 17 August, 11 students (Angus Kemp, Christian Valentincic, Dante Radetti, Cristiano Sutton, Ben Zeuner, Alex Battistella, Joseph Pitia, Vincenzo Lazzaro-Lindsay, Alexandro Transini Marcus and Luke DeManno) from Year 4 to 6 in the Primary School celebrated their Confirmation at Rosary Church. Thank you to all the families for their preparation in getting the boys ready for this sacrament.
18 -22 September is Parents in Education Week. Please refer to the link below to the website. This a joint initiative across government, independent and Catholic preschool and school sectors.

This year (Week 5) for Book Week there is not a dress parade. There will be a Primary School Assembly and each class will be presenting something around one of the short-listed books. Fr Matthew will also be talking to the Primary School students about the ‘Good Book.’
This is just a reminder that during Term 3 all students are required to wear their hats during recess and lunch. If your son does not have their hat they will be directed by the teacher on duty to sit on the benches outside the primary classrooms. Could we also please ask that you clearly label your child’s hat, so we can reunite it with your son if it goes missing.
This year the ABODA Festival also takes place during Week 5. Many of our Primary students will be competing at Westminster School against other bands. This is a great day and a fantastic experience for our students. It costs a gold coin donation to go and watch and it is certainly worth it.
Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Cross Country Carnival on 10 August, and a big thank you to the parents who went along to help and support the students.
