Last Friday the P&F hosted the Annual Quiz Night and what a great night it was, raising $1,300.  P&F Representative Chris Parsons did an outstanding job emceeing and Mrs Alison Ronoastro delivered a great mix of questions and a music soundtrack many wanted to take home on the night. Despite Rachel Elgar being unwell, we were blessed with her company and fortunate her husband was not competing this year. We received fantastic feedback on the night, with many saying it was the best one yet and with most tables taking it to the next level to dress up.

With a movie theme, guests made their way into the Frassati Hall on a red carpet! There was a mix of general knowledge, Academy Award and soundtrack specific rounds - there really was something for everyone. Some tables took the opportunity to dress to the theme – Men in Black and Frozen tying for the best dressed prizes.

In Primary School, families develop their extended support networks in the playground and as the boys move into middle and senior school, the school drop off is at the gate. Many families take this opportunity to organise a table to catch up, share a plate of food and have a great time. Proving to be a popular event on the Blackfriars calendar the numbers are steadily growing each year; hope we see you there next year! Thank you to the P&F, Chris Parsons, Alison Ronoastro and Rachel Elgar.

This is one of many events a small but dedicated group of parents coordinate. The P&F are an important function of the school; creating further engagement across the school community and delivering on additional funding for resources to support your child’s experience at school.  We have several more events planned for the year and we need greater engagement from the parent community moving forward. We are all busy people; if you can give 1-2hours of your time throughout the school year, you will be making a difference.

For further information please contact Rachel Elgar relgar@bps.sa.edu.au.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 29 August and we would love to see you there.
