Mathematics Quiz Night

Last week we once again hosted the annual Mathematics Quiz night here at Blackfriars Priory School with three Junior teams (Years 8 to 10) and four Senior teams (Years 11 and 12) from Blackfriars. Our competition on the night came from Adelaide High School, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, Underdale High School, St Dominics Priory College and St Aloysius College.

Our Junior team of Victor Lim, Minh-Khoi Tran, Trung Nguyen and Kevin Phan enjoyed success on the night with a prestigious 1st place in the Mathematics category. Our other teams in the Junior Category were Harry Catley, Frank Snelling, Peter Le, Cooper O'Leary, Danny Nguyen, Kevin Dang, Bruce Ngo, Andy Nguyen. They came equal 3rd in the Mathematics Category showing our strong performance against the other five schools who attended.

Our senior teams consisted of the following students: Jason Vien, Randula De Zoysa, Yonatan Halawa, Sebastian Deluca, Hieu Dang, Andy Bui, Chris Hoang, Tri Ngo, Duy Tran, Khoi Lam, Phi An Trinh, Ahmad Dosti, Danny Nguyen, Sajad Alizadah and Josh Pinyon.

Clearly all our teams and visiting teams had much fun on the night. Mr Jak Francis was our emcee and Mr Dom Catalano headed up our marking team while Mr Phil Alderson, Mr Michael Parrella, Mr Mark Andersson, Mr Dan Winter, Mr Matthew Wallace and last but never least Mr Chris Packer provided the staff team to make the event so successful, along with several staff from our competitor schools. It was a very entertaining night with fierce competition and lots of fun and our congratulations go to not only our winning Junior team but to all the other boys who took part and had fun.
