4/5M Share in World Prayer Day at The Salvation Army
Our visit to the Salvation Army prayer service!!
On Friday the 3rd of march 4/5m went to a World prayer service held at the Salvation Army. some people from the Philippines talked about their jobs and how they travelled around. Sebastian and Mikayla both read a little prayer of the faithful. after that a few minutes later it was time for 4/5m to shine their singing skills. we sang a hymn called Oh Mary, we ask you and Mr Mullavey said that we did a fantastic job. After the prayer service we went into a hall for the elders to eat. Mr Mullavey told us to partner up with someone and go around the room and find aN elder to speak with. I partnerEd up with Joanne. Fr Gerry helped Joanne and I, he took us to a very nice elder called Tess. she was very nice, so we asked her some questions until we had to say good bye and go back to our wonderful school. We had so much fun and we might just go there again.

Salvation Army Prayer Service
On the 3rd of March, we went to the Salvation Army . Our school is only a short walk away. We got there in no time. This was the first time I had been there (apart from the election). I was a little excited. There were about 46 seats I chose to sit in the middle of row 2. The pray service was dedicated to Philippines. Almost everyone lost their place. We watched a video about the Philippines and how a typhoon destroyed many homes. At the end we sang a song. After, we talked to some people who said we sang very well but soon it was time to go.

Our visit to the Salvation Army
On Friday 4-5 m went to a special prayer service for the Philippines. The people that read were from the Philippines. They talked about how it was living there. They talked about their work and how they felt about all the typhoons hitting their land. After all the readings and hymns our class got up and sang a beautiful hymn called “Oh Mary, we ask you”. After the whole prayer service Mr Mullavey asked us to get a partner and go and meet one or two people so I partnered up with Han. Han and I went and met a wonderful elder named Tess. She asked us so many questions about us. She also told us about one of her very good friends that lives in the Philippines. Tess also said that she has known her since her wedding. Wow! that was the best day ever.

21 March is Harmony Day
.
Our diversity makes Australia a great place to live. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
Held every year on 21 March.
The message of Harmony Day is ‘everyone belongs’, the Day aims to engage people to participate in their community, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster sense of belonging for everyone. At St Mary's this special day links in extremely well with Our Dispositions of collaboration, acceptance and trust.
Children are asked to wear colours of their cultural identity on this day. We will then share some fun times together at Pender's Park from 1:30-3:00pm approx. All welcome.
