A huge thank you to all of our students and staff who participated in the lineup of events during the Book Week celebrations.  Special thanks to Ms Tolley, School Captain Sarah Garlick and diversity Captain Annabelle Stephens for their organisation and promotion of events. It was marvellous to have everyone on site for the main events - we dressed up as our favourite book characters and collected books to donate to Rotary. A special thanks to Library Assistant and PSD Learning Mentor Mrs Robyn Kimpton for her gorgeous Curious Creatures library display.

Library Clubs

Now in their 4th year our Library Clubs have continued to grow in popularity and attendance. It's been heartwarming to see our students able to join in on site again at both Craft Club and Book Club. Thanks to our Circle of Friends Book Club attendees who continued to Zoom every Wednesday for 2 terms!!!

Craft Club runs Monday and Friday every week on site and this term it's Polymer Clay Jewellery making - a fantastic turnout and definitely the highlight of my week and I hope that of many of the attendees. Special thanks to Ms Caroline Hall for her guest appearance to showcase her polymer clay earring collection - we all loved her avocados, unicorns and Baby Yoda earrings...

Library Loans ending for 2020

To enable our annual stocktake we would like to have all of our school library books returned by Monday November 30th please. Borrowing will cease on Friday 20th November to assist with this. There are posters around the school and notices on Compass reminding everyone.

Overdue Notices 2020

We have a 4 step process for this - 1 Students are notified via Compass, 2 Parents are notified and students re-emailed via Compass + daily lists of overdues are put on Compass, 3 Students are visited in classes and finally 4 Lost notices are issued to parents via MFG Admin and replacement costs issued and collected. At this point books are removed from the Library Catalogue and new copies ordered...so replacement costs are non-refundable. Please be super careful with our wonderful books and magazines and keep them separate from  any Geelong Library books at home. We've returned 3 more adult and children's fiction books to Geelong Library this week alone! Thanks for helping with this.

In 2021 we will all get into a much better cycle of borrowing and regular returning - thanks so much to all of our students for their returns this term - lots of new books will be displayed for 2021 - we can't wait for regular library classes to come in and start borrowing again - the purple library recommendations box has now been cleared for all of you who recommended new books to buy - 35 recommendations!!!! Thanks, especially to our Circle of Friends Book Group members and MFG Year 7 & 8 Reading Program students for their recommendations.
