Assistant Principal News

Welcome back to Term 4!!

A reminder that with the temperature continuing to rise and the fast approach of summer, all students are expected to wear their full summer uniform for Term 4. Students are required to wear a College hat whenever they are not in shaded areas to ensure maximum protection from the sun and we ask that students only wear their sports uniform on their scheduled sport days. This ensures that everyone is representing Marian proudly in their correct College uniform. Please refer to the student diary, college Website or contact the College directly if you have any concerns or queries around the correct uniforms.

At the end of Term 3 our Year 11 students undertook their Preliminary Examinations. We wish to congratulate them on the successful completion of their Preliminary course. Students are now receiving their results and it is pleasing to note that students seem content with their performance in most exams. All students now commence the HSC course in all subjects. We wish them all the best in their final year at Marian. Year 11 reports are currently being completed by staff and will be sent to parents via Compass over the coming weeks.

At the end of last term we announced the appointment of our College Captains for 2021, this week we have begun the process of application for Prefect and House Leadership roles. Students Leaders at Marian are asked to be able to:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to their studies at the College
  • Be involved in the life of the College through each element of the College Vision and Mission
  • Demonstrate leadership and be positive role models
  • Follow the expectations, ethos and values of the College
  • Support the decisions of College staff
  • Confidently be able to represent the College at official functions
  • Provide practical support and welcome for visitors and new members of the College
  • Actively participates in College and Community Service activities whenever possible

Our students embody these qualities daily and we are very confident that the leaders of 2021 will continue to inclusively inspire and encourage our whole Marian community.

Finally, Year 12 will commence their HSC examinations next week. We wish them all the best with the exams and are certain that their hard work, knowledge and commitment will be reflected in their achievements. We ask all of our students to ‘be kind’ to themselves over the coming weeks and ensure that they balance their activities to ensure a healthy approach to their final exam period. We look forward to celebrating the end of their time at Marian Catholic College at their Graduation in November.

Yours in Learning,
