MORELAND CITY COUNCIL

We are excited to have started our partnership with the Moreland City council and their seniors and look forward to future collaborations.

Below is our performance to 'I Got Rhythm'.

Well done to all Foundation/One students who learned the dance routine in ONE week!

INQUIRY

Students in F/1 are currently exploring similarities and differences between them. They have investigated different books about people and places, considering questions they would like to learn more about.

Students have put themselves in the shoes of a person traveling to a new country. They have shown this through role-plays.

TAKE HOME READERS

Just a reminder, students started to take home readers last week. Students will take 1 English book every night and 2 Spanish books a week. Along with this, students are encouraged to use Bug Club and Raz Kids as additional reading resources.

UPCOMING DATES

  • Tuesday November 3: Melbourne Cup

NEWLANDS SUNSMART POLICY

Our SunSmart policy has been developed to ensure that all students attending our school are protected from skin damage caused by ultra-violet rays from the sun. The wearing of hats, which protect the face, neck, and ears, is compulsory whenever the children are outside during Terms 1 and 4. All students are required to wear school hats that protect their face, neck and ears, i.e. legionnaire, bucket hat. We encourage the use of SPF 30+ broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen when the students are in the playground, on excursions and playing sport.

Handy hint: Make sure sunscreen is put on before school. Teachers will remind students to put on sunscreen before playtime.
