Exam Update

The Year 12 exams are well underway with most students having experienced at least one exam this week.  Students have been reporting they feel confident and the feedback from teachers is that so far the exams have been fair and that our students are prepared. It's a long haul over the next couple of weeks, we suggest that students pace themselves, look after their health and get plenty of sleep.  We would also like to remind both parents and students that if students are ill and not able to attend they should contact Mrs Mingos.  The VCAA has a capacity for develop derived scores based on previous assessments for those students whose ill health prevents them from attending.

Year 11 Exams These are fast approaching for our year 11 students.  It is an expectation that all students in year 11 attend for all exams. Where students are absent on the day of an exam the team will schedule another time.  We understand that after remote learning some students may be lacking confidence and find the idea of an exam a little confronting, however we believe that remote learning makes them even more important.  Teachers will get a clear indication of student learning this year and be able to use that information to support students better in Year 12.  

Year 10 Exams  Due to the semester based program in year 10 we will only be running exams in English and Maths.  As with year 11 the data collected from these exams will provide teachers with clear information that will assist them in better supporting students as they begin VCAL or VCE in Year 11.

Later Years Step Up program

To prepare students for the 2021 academic year all Year 10 and 11 students will participate in a Step Up Program. The Step Up Program will give students an opportunity to be introduced to their 2021 VCE and VCAL subjects. The dates for Step Up are as follows:

Year 11-12

Monday 30th November and Tuesday 1st December - Step Up

Wednesday 2nd December - Whole school assessment day - no classes

Thursday 3rd December - VCE Exam Revision day/VCAL Work Placement Day

Year 10-11

Thursday 3rd  December and Friday 4th December - Step Up
