Junior Class

This week the Junior Class started the week off with a great excursion, putting into practice the road and water safety that we had been discussing.  Although they thoroughly enjoyed our outing to the lake and the playground, I think some of the children were so exhausted by the end of the walk they were glad to be back at school.  We have continued to practice our division skills and have had some fun sharing counters onto our spots pretending they are cookies and chocolate chips as well as using playdough to share items.  We have had a wonderful display of costumes and outfits from characters in books this week for our Book Week parade and enjoyed watching a performance adaptation of the book “Three” by Stephen Michael King as well as lots of patting and pretending to eat all of the food on my Very Hungry Caterpillar costume.

Senior Class

Last  week the senior class has put into practice kitchen safety rules and procedures.  We decided, after a lot of deliberation, to make Fried Rice!  Each student had a veggie station with something to chop, slice or dice up.  Everyone worked so well and took their time, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such evenly cut veggies.  We added all the ingredients together in our two woks and served out fried rice.  It was absolutely delicious, I overheard a few comments of “this is the best”, which was great to hear.  We also rewarded our amazing cooking skills by finishing the day off with mixed berry smoothies.  A big Thanks to Jack, Mia and Jet for organising Mrs Pilgrim and myself in the kitchen, making sure we had ice cream and honey in each blender!

Little Joey

This week we continue to acknowledge the significant role of the "Brown Joeys" in the establishment of St Patrick's School, and recognised Moe Tha Zin and Ma Thay Thay with Little Joey awards.

Our Little Joeys receive a certificate, sticker and a voucher/goods donated by a local business.  This week's vouchers were donated by Wimmera Bakery.  We are very grateful for the contributions from our local businesses.
