Principal's Report

 - Tania Sorbello

We made it!!

Given that this has been our first full term together in more than two years, I would like to congratulate the children, our staff and the community on their wonderful start to the 2022. You have all shown the Kindness, Resilience and Respect that defines us as a community and supported each other through the highs and lows of Term 1.

As you will see in Dale’s report this week, the tender process is now complete and the school, along with the VSBA, are working through the tender submissions to ensure we work towards the best possible outcome for our school.

Farewell Dale

After two years at Fitzroy North Primary School and more than 45 years with the education department, the time has come for us to say farewell to Dale. The universe has a funny way of ensuring people are where they need to be when they need to be there and that’s exactly what happened with Dale arriving at FNPS. Over the past two years, Dale has steadied the ship and supported the staff, students and community through the challenging periods of Covid with grace and integrity.

The FNPS community are indebted to you Dale. Thank you for leading this school with your head, your heart and your hands. You have touched each and every one of us.

Enjoy your retirement!!

FNPS 4 RCH

It has been amazing to see our community come together to celebrate the last day of term through our FNPS 4 RCH fundraiser.

To each and every family that has donated to this cause, we thank you. Thank you to each of you who have baked, volunteered your time on the Cake Stall and Sausage Sizzle and purchased through these events, your contribution is making a difference to the lives of the children and families under the care of the Royal Children’s Hospital. We are so grateful for this opportunity to support Alex and his family and we thank you all for your efforts.

If you haven’t already done so and would like to make a tax deductible donation to the Good Friday Appeal through our virtual shaker tin, please head to the Royal Children’s Hospital page of this newsletter.

Prep / Year 1 Open Morning

It was so wonderful to have our first open morning for the year, with our Prep and Year 1 families attending to help celebrate the culmination of Term 1 learning. So many of us felt emotional about finally having parents back on site – thank you to our families, teachers and students for organising and participating in this event; it truly is these moments that children remember as they grow.

Ready Set Grow…

Sunday 27th March again saw our army of volunteers come together to support our school in preparation for our Term 2 building project. From decanting classrooms to moving items into our shipping containers, the team worked seamlessly to ensure classrooms and other areas were ready for the builders to begin. We can’t thank you all enough for your efforts; check out some of the progress photos below:
