VET- Yr 9 Skill Set Week 10

Year 9 Skill Set

Vocational Education and Training, VET is a wonderful way of learning and provides a great opportunity for students to develop knowledge and practical skills relevant to selected industries that interest them.

Recently we had several St Philip's students participate in the Year 9 Skill Set program at Charles Darwin University. The students attended CDU for the week engaging in a variety of interesting cluster courses such as Plumbing, Business and Retail, Hospitality and Cookery. They enjoyed their hands-on practical experience and will continue their courses during Term 2.

Certificate I Stablehand

This term we have had four students participate in a Certificate I in Racing (Stablehand) Skill Set at the RDA. Students have been attending every Tuesday, developing an understanding and knowledge of the prime function of care for horses such as feeding, grooming, exercising; as well as keeping the environment safe, clean and hygienic.
