Message from the Year 9 Student Managers

It was the second last day of Term 1, my friends and I finally had our first taste of the rhubarb and apple crumble with vanilla ice-cream and double cream….OMG!

I didn’t expect when I first joined the club (with the thought that we’d just be taking care of plants) that we’d end up having a reward from it. I’d never actually had the rhubarb apple crumble before, so I think this was a rewarding experience for me and others in the club. The food was even more enjoyable with friends and teachers joining us. (Kripa & Dean)

We would like to encourage our Year 9 cohort to use the herbs from our Year 9 Veggie Garden to celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend.

If you like desserts, we highly recommend you give the rhubarb and apple crumble a go (pick up the recipe from the Year 9 SM office), and if you want something savoury why not try rice-paper rolls? We have lots of Vietnamese mints in our garden.

To all the mums, (nannas, aunties and sisters who play the roles of ‘mums’), we wish you all a very special Mother’s Day this weekend with lots of love, food and laughter around the dinner table.
