VSC Updates and Information

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE DAY – WEDNESDAY 25TH MAY

The Department of Education and Training (DET) have approved a Professional Practice Day to be held in Term 2 for all staff state-wide. Vermont will hold this day on Wednesday 25th of May and students will not be required at school. This is a day set aside for teachers to have a common planning day working on, and further developing, curriculum.

TAX DEDUCTIBLE BUILDING AND LIBRARY FUNDS

As tax time is approaching, parents/guardians are reminded that donations to the Vermont Secondary College’s Library Fund and Building Fund are Tax Deductible and the College welcomes donations of any size. These funds are very much required for the college to maintain our many buildings and provide much needed resources for the classroom and library to benefit our students. Thank you to the families that have chosen to contribute.

Direct deposits to: BSB 313-140; Account No: 12050892, Account Name: Vermont Secondary College. Please use your child’s student code as the identifier. All money raised is used to enhance facilities for your student/s. Receipts will be forwarded to you for tax purposes. ​

Important information for Parents & Carers

It has come to our attention that some students are using Discord social media during school hours. 

As Discord is blocked via the school network this means that students are using VPNs or hotspots to access Discord. Both accessing social media and using VPN’s are a breach of VSC and DET guidelines and rules. 

Unmonitored use of Discord and other social media can potentially place students are risk and or lead to many unpleasant outcomes.  There are also age constraints and filters in Discord which can expose students to many harmful or inappropriate content.  

Please take the time to check out the Parent/Carer information via the link below and have a conversation with your child. 

We advise that if your child is using Discord an adult should monitor usage and any access to Discord should not be during school hours.

Year 7 Enrolment 2023

Please be aware that you should have received your enrolment application forms for Year 7 2023 from your Primary School. 

Forms should be submitted to your Primary School by Friday May 13. 

If your child currently attends an Independent or Catholic school and you have not received the forms please contact our Registrar Kerry Hutchinson on 8872 6314.
