Instrumental Music News 

As Term 2 begins, we are excited to report there will lots of events and opportunities for the college community to see our bands perform throughout this part of the year. 

ANZAC DAY

On Sunday the 24th of April, the Vermont Marching Band were invited to participate in the ANZAC DAY ceremony at the Ringwood RSL. The students performed some wonderful pieces and represented the college in such a positive light. 

We thank all the students and parents involved for their dedication and support of this event. Well done and huge thanks to Ben Mudddyman and for all his work with the Symphonic band so far and for leading the Band and a special thanks to Jeremy Shannon for his assistance on the day. 

GUITAR ENSEMBLE

There will be a change for the Guitar Ensemble after the Autumn Concert in that Christian Meyer and Rob Gaston will run two separate groups. Returning to the model from last year. RGA's group on Monday after school. CME's group will run Tuesday morning before school. Thanks for your understanding. It's been such a massive effort from staff to manage such a large group. We hope that next term is more cohesive. 

NEVR CONCERT

The Symphonic Band lead by Ben Muddyman will be collaborating with Danny Van Bergen at Wantirna College for the NEVR Concert this year. Both schools combining their Symphonic Bands will give us a chance to learn from other like schools as well as to showcase our wonderful sounding Band for this year's concert at Hamer Hall. We will keep parents informed about this wonderful opportunity.

OPEN EVENING (5th May)

This Thursday night is the Open Evening. This is a great chance for prospective parents to come and see the college and to

CHAMBER STRINGS ORCHESTRA - 6.30-7pm (Outside the Library Foyer)

SENIOR BRASS ENSEMBLE - 7:00 - 7:30pm (Outside the Library Foyer)

SYMPHONIC BAND OPEN REHEARSAL - 7:00 - 8:00pm (Music Centre)

AUTUMN CONCERT

DATE: THURSDAY 12th MAY, 2022TIME: 6:30pm - 9:00pmLOCATION: VERMONT SECONDARY AUDITORIUM

This year we are holding our Annual AUTUMN CONCERT on Thursday the 12th of May. This is our first 'full program' Concert which will showcase every student involved in our music Program for the year and will mark their first official performance. 

Featuring: Rookie Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Junior and Senior String Orchestras, both Guitar Ensembles, The Choir and The Vermont Stage Band.

Students should meet in the Music Centre at 6pm to assist with equipment and concert set up. 

All students are to attend in full winter uniform with their music and instruments ready to perform.

WOODWIND SOIREE

We invite you to share an intimate night of music performances by our Woodwind students.

The Woodwind Soiree will showcase the hard work and dedication of our Music students and their progress on the Saxophone, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, and Clarinet . This event, hosted by Mr. Benjamin Muddyman and Ms. Liz Clark, is a great chance for parents and friends of the college community to come to hear some great music, to meet with other parents and Music Staff and most importantly, to show our support for our students. 

STRING SOIREE

THE MUSIC CENTRE

Date: THURSDAY 9th JUNE, 2022Time: 6:30PM - 8PM

We invite you to share an intimate night of music performances by our String students.

The String Soiree will showcase the hard work and dedication of our Music students and their progress on the Violin, Viola and Cello. 

This event, hosted by Ms. Imogen Willson and Ms. Evelyn Wang, is a great chance for parents and friends of the college community to come to hear some great music, to meet with other parents and Music Staff and most importantly, to show our support for our students. The event will commence at 6:30pm and should be wrapped up by around 8pm.
