Wellbeing News
As we approach the end of Term 1, there is a lot to be thankful for. The students at SMDP have continued to be resilient, hard working and enthusiastic towards their learning. The end of term is a great time to reflect and celebrate our achievements, successes and learning experiences.
Our Grade Six leaders took part in the National Young Leaders Day on Wednesday the 23rd Of March at the Melbourne Convention Centre. It was a fantastic day! It was very motivating and inspiring for our young leaders to hear how other leaders in our community developed their strength and skills through challenging times, and from learning from their mistakes. Our school leaders did an exemplary job in representing our school with pride and passion and took away many lessons to share with our school community.
The students from Prep to Six have continued to focus their wellbeing learning sessions on building their ability to name, recognise and express their emotions. Recognising and acknowledging our personal feelings and considering the feelings of those around us, helps to build and maintain positive and respectful relationships and a safe school environment. Our Respectful Relationships Education continues to be a major focus for our school community. Next term the students will be learning about different coping strategies and begin to explore positive help seeking supports available. We look forward to sharing our learning around these topics with you.
