Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

During Monday's whole school the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Prep L | Ila | For being a resilient learner who is always having a go at learning tasks even when they are challenging! Ila has done her very best this week to persist in her writing and use finger spaces even when writing can feel tricky. Well done Ila! |
Prep N | Ashi | For being a resilient learner who never gives up and always does her best in learning tasks and social situations. Ashi has risen to the challenges of prep and become a valued member of our learning community. Great job Ashi. |
1/2C | Mehar | For being a motivated learner who has confidently raised her hand and participated in group discussions while also ensuring that everyone has a turn. Mehar has also tried her best to follow directions and has achieved both her lunch and recess goal! Well done, we are all very proud of you. |
1/2S | Niven | For being a motivated learner who has continued to show determination to improve his learning. He listened to teacher feedback and used different resources around him to help support and improve his writing. He created a story about a leprechaun and used descriptive language to hook the reader in. Well done on being a motivated learner Niven! |
1/2L | Harsh | For being a curious learner during Inquiry when investigating how to look after our Earth. Harsh has shared his knowledge and experiences of growing his own Organic food at home to help create more sustainable ways to live. Keep up the great work Harsh! |
3/4SL | Charlotte | For being a motivated learner who is always engaged, focused and asks questions to complete her learning to the best of her ability. |
3/4ST | Dexter | For being a thoughtful and considerate class member who always offers to help and keeps the classroom organised and tidy. Thank you for being a collaborative learner who offers support to his peers with their learning. |
3/4S | Utkarsh | For being a motivated learner who is engaged, focused and invested in his learning. Utkarsh works on learning tasks diligently to maximise his learning. |
5/6L | Kiran | For being a reflective learner in your writing in your ‘weather bomb’ writing task. You have shown you are listening to feedback and extending yourself in your writing. Keep up the great work Kiran!! |
5/6K | Maanya | For being a motivated learner who is always focussed in class and diligent in your work. You produced a high quality response to the Nature and Climate Change article in Literacy this week, with a strong summary and a convincing persuasive article. Keep up the amazing work Maanya. |
5/6S | Anika | For being a motivated learner who consistently completes all of her learning tasks to a high standard and is a role model to her peers. Anika it is wonderful to have you in 5/6S as you frequently demonstrate our class expectations for behaviour and effort, and allow your classmates to look up to you. You should be proud of all of your effort so far this year! Well done Anika. |

Prep N | Joshua | For being a motivated learner who is striving to do his best in every learning task. Joshua follows directions independently allowing him to manage his time well and enjoy his learning. What a great role model you are, Joshua. |
1/2C | Lazarus | For being a collaborative learner who always helps and supports his classmates.He understands the importance of listening and showing respect to others. During swimming lessons he is extremely organised and has been an excellent role model. Well done Lazaraus! |
1/2S | Marlee | For being a collaborative and responsible learner during swimming lessons. Marlee is organised, prepared and ready to learn at all times. She never hesitates to help and support her peers. Marlee’s positive attitude towards learning is infectious to others. |
1/2L | Evan | For being a motivated learner who has made excellent progress in his reading this term. Evan is using the strategies he has learnt to decode and understand a text more deeply. Well done Evan! |
