CAPA Faculty

The students and staff of the Creative and Performing Arts Faculty have had an exciting year with many events that celebrate and exhibit the success of our students throughout the year. Students have created artworks, photographs, sculptures, characters, performances and ideas in the classroom and on the stage; growing in confidence, wellbeing and as part of a community that cares and is passionate about music, art, drama and photography and what it means in today's world.

Students have had opportunities Drama Club before school on Thursdays learning to communicate with and without words and actions.

Concert Band has had a great year before school on Wednesdays and performed music from The Beatles to the Black Keys and even a little Top Gun.

Visual Art students have had their creations in the classroom exhibited in school events such as VISTAS through to A Central Vision and just recently the Newcastle University Next Gen Exhibition.

Music students performed to family and friends at OnTrack, Performing Arts Nights (PAN), Celebration Assemblies and more. Senior students took advantage of experienced HSC Markers and Musicians at the annual HSC Music Day.

Drama students expanded their abilities in Script Writing, Stage Design and of course Acting and have travelled to see many wonderful performances and workshops at HSPA and in Sydney.

Performance has recently taken a big step up with a new Digital Sound Desk and Sound Equipment in the Hall. This is an exciting step forward for the whole school and students who step up onto our stage.

We continue to celebrate our many students on our Creative and Performing Arts Facebook page as there are so many things that happen daily, more than be put into one page here. Please visit and like this page to see what CAPA at Henry Kendall High School is privileged to be part of every day.

A great year and many thanks to the 2022 CAPA Team including Jen Court, Gemma Lucca, Mary Gillard, Lisa Wright, Janelle Wilkinson, Mitch Herring and Luke Fabila. Looking forward to next year.
