As I write, I’m thinking about the Tomorrow Man/Tomorrow Woman visit and sessions for all Year 11 students happening today. Presenters develop materials and discussions from their own program and in direct consultation with us, to tailor to our specific context. Most students report that they highly value the opportunity to discuss challenging topics around mental health and emerging into adulthood in a rural context.

These discussions often develop into wonderful protective factors, giving students a voice, skills and the courage to use empathy, challenge stereotypes and speak up about their struggles. I strongly encourage you to ask your child about the wellbeing topics discussed and engage in conversation about how they specifically apply in your circumstances.

A huge thanks also to the P&C Committee, for their ongoing support for the Tomorrow Man/Tomorrow Woman program. Without their 50% contribution towards the fees and the generous support of the Kai Fella Foundation, we would not be able to offer this important program in its full six units over the two years of Year 11 and 12. As always, stay safe.
