Rural educational excellence through innovation, passion and collaboration

Ngala kaadatj nidja Nyoongar Ballardong Boodja

We acknowledge this is Nyoongar Ballardong Country

It is really hard to believe that we are in Week 5 already, with our Year 11's only having two and a half weeks to go (with plenty still happening across all areas of the College). Thank you to the parents who have ensured your child attends right up until the last day of Term (Friday 25th November) which will be capped off with our Year 11 Ceremony.

Trucks on the Road

There is an increased frequency of trucks coming up and down the road along the front entrance as they cart grain for harvest. Please be careful when entering and exiting the college as a B-double semi fully loaded with grain takes a while to slow down at short notice.

Open Board Meeting

Our annual Open Board Meeting will be held at 12.00pm after the Year 11 Ceremony. Any parents who would like to attend are welcome to come along. Please register your interest by emailing me here at the College.

WACE Exams

Our Year 12 ATAR students today completed their fourth and final WACE Exam. I would like to acknowledge the hard work, commitment and effort put in by these students in the lead up to their exams. I wish them all the best of luck and hope they all receive the results they set out to achieve.

Year 12 Valedictory

This Friday is all about our Year 12's. I am very much looking forward to celebrating the day with the students, families and staff. I ask that students arrive on time, are in full formal school uniform, are well presented and ready to go. Any uniform issues, please contact Miss KV before Friday.

Senior Staff Farm and Trades Emersion Day

Next Monday, Miss Smith, Ms KV, Mrs Aynsley and Mr Lock will be putting on their work boots and spending some time working alongside students in the Farm and Trades areas. A College priority is to ensure all areas of our College work together, share ideas and resources and utilise learning opportunities across all other learning areas. Stay tuned for some photos!

Settling Accounts

Our College relies heavily on individual students' fees and charges as an income stream to assist with financing the fantastic learning programs we have on offer. I kindly ask that parents please settle their 2022 accounts ASAP or contact Lisa Jasper or Yvonne Bopp if you would like to set up a payment plan.

P&C Meeting

Last week the incoming P&C held their first meeting as a committee. There was a great turnout and it is heartening to see so many parents motivated to support our College.

Residential Weekend Activities and the small number of students who stay in each week has been a topic of conversation amongst the P&C for many years.

We continue to seek feedback from parents and students to come up with innovative and appealing weekend activities to encourage students to stay in. The College has Adventure World scheduled in for the first Saturday back in 2023 and encourage all students to stay in and get to know our incoming Year 11's. We also have scheduled in Term 1, the Ag College annual Autumn Carnival in Harvey. Moving forward, the Student Council had been tasked with canvassing the student body to develop the Term 1 2023 Weekend Leisure Activities schedule at next Monday's meeting.

The P&C have also agreed to continue to commit funds and support 50% of the cost of Tomorrow Man/Tomorrow Woman workshops moving into 2023. I really appreciate the P&C supporting this initiative, as the impact on students has been profound and the feedback from students been overwhelmingly positive.

Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable rest of the week and looking forward to seeing all of the Year 12 students and their families at Valedictory on Friday.
