Principal's Message

On Thursday 24 November we will be gathering to celebrate the graduating Year 12 class of 2022. They have completed their examinations or their modules of work and they are looking forward to rejuvenate themselves over the Christmas and New Year period. I commend all the Year 12 students for their commitment to complete their formal time at the College in a spirit of community and friendship. They have supported each other through difficult time and at the same time enjoyed many happy times that will be lasting memories. The Graduation Mass and Dinner is always a highlight of the College calendar and a true celebratory acknowledgement of the contribution that this group has made to the story of Marian College. I would like to thank Mr Bratovic (Senior Level Leader) Ms Piccione (Senior Level Leader), Ms Anne Daunt (VCE Leader), Ms Genevieve O'Keeffe (VET Leader), Ms Bernadette Casey (Assistant to the Principal - Faith and Mission) and all the Senior Mentor teachers for their support and preparation over this last weeks.

The Commencement Class program for 2023 started this week and the our current Year 10 and Year 11 students have been promoted up to begin their VCE studies for 2023. This is often filled with excitement and a few nerves but the idea is develop a plan for the commitment to their studies into the new year. We eagerly anticipate the leadership that these students show in the efforts they put in to succeed in their individual pathways.

As you can imagine there has already been a great deal of preparation to support the organisation of the 2023 College year. Subjects have selected, timetables have been produced, classes have been arranged and courses have been written. We are pleased to inform you that 13 new teaching staff have been appointed to accommodate the changes to the Year 9 & 10 program and the introduction of the new VCE format. Also, we have increased the number of Learning Support staff to provided for needs of individual students. We will continue to strive to enhance our programs and the level of personal support to our students and families. I encourage you to be in contact with us if you require any assistance or further information as to how the College provides for the wellbeing and learning needs of your young person.
