What we have been up to...

We were very glad this year to be able to once again hold Grandparents Day! Students loved the opportunity to show their grandparents what they have been learning about, give tours of the school and to do lots of different activities with their grandparent/s. We hope all the grandparents enjoyed their day equally as much and thank them for spending time with us in our classrooms.

Upcoming Fortnight:

Term 4 - Week 7 and 8

Literacy:  In week 7 and 8 our reading sessions will focus on using the strategies 'Recognising Author's purpose' and 'Recognising literary elements' (e.g. plot, setting). Students will focus on the phonemes 'oy' as in boy and 'ear' as in dear, they will be encouraged to use and locate these in their reading and writing.

During Writing we will continue to look at writing persuasive texts, using appropriate vocabulary and also look at constructing complex sentences.

Mathematics:  Over the next fortnight students will be focusing on fractions, 3D shape and location. We will also to continue to develop our problem solving skills and the idea that sometimes we have to persevere when we have a problem we are challenged by!

Topic:  During Topic sessions students will continue to focus on creativity and design. They will move onto working in small groups to design a robot, keeping in mind the important design principles, accuracy and precision, which they have learnt about over the last few weeks.
