Careers

The Careers Team have been visiting the Year 8 Humanities classes this week talking to students about the GSSC Careers Website and Career Action Plans. If you haven't already seen the website it is worthwhile having a look by visiting www.gssccareers.com

The students also have access to their own portal on the website where they can write Resumes and cover letters, do careers quizzes, investigate careers and access their Career Action Plans. The students will be accessing their Career Action Plans every year until they leave school allowing them to explore the realities of where they are now, all things both great and challenging. It allows them to assess risks and opportunities for the future and be proactive in improving skills and identifying their strengths.

GOTAFE VET –  Year 1, 2023

Students in year 10 who have completed an expression of interest in studying a VET at GOTAFE are being asked to check their emails. Students who have been successful in their GOTAFE VETDSS application, will receive an email asking them to complete a link to an online BSKB quiz. The BKSB is an approved online review tool which will provide a level for English and Mathematics, to identify any gaps or areas that a student may need additional support in. This test needs to be completed within 7 days of the email being sent. Your confirmed enrolment is dependent on you completing the BKSB.

If you find that you haven't been able to access the link please let your Careers Practitioner know as soon as possible. If you haven't received anything from GOTAFE, please check your junk mail as a few students have located them in there.  Any questions see Mrs O’Bree or the Careers Team.
