End of Year Assessment Requirements

In recent weeks all staff have been assessing the final learning tasks for the school year.  All classes are now completing the end of year assessments in preparation for their end of year reports.

Colour Run

Recently the Parents and Friends held the highly successful Colour Run.  This special, whole school event was held in perfect weather and our oval was a sea of white shirts, coloured headbands and students wearing bright sunglasses.  Huge smiles and lots of laughter could be seen and heard from both students and staff members alike as they raced around the oval, through the inflatables and the spray of water and coloured powder.

The day concluded with many staff members volunteering to be slimed by one lucky student whose name was drawn out of a hat.  Who knew how one bucket of slime could permeate every item of clothing worn!

The day was not only a huge day of fun for everyone but also an incredible fund raiser with event raising approximately $20,000.

I would like to sincerely thank Cathryn Verlaan and Bianca Pieske for the enormous amount of work she put into organisng this event .

This money, together with the other funds raised by the P&F this year means we are almost at the target of $60 000 for the new play equipment.  We all hope that the BBQ and Cake stall being held on election day will ensure this new play equipment can be ordered for installation early next year.

Reembrace Day Service

Last Thursday the Year 6 students conducted a moving  Remembrance Day Service for our school population , families and guests.  A lot of time and commitment is given to the organisation of this special morning. The Year 6 students all spoke extremely well.

Thank you to our who Choir performed beautifully on the morning.

Beaumaris RSL Community Remembrance Day Service

It was my absolute pleasure to accompany our School Captains to the Beaumaris RSL Remembrance Day Service last Friday. Olivia and Fletcher were excellent company and represented our school with maturity and respect for the occasion and the people involved.

It was a beautiful ceremony, very similar to our own run by the Year 6 students the day before. We were grateful to experience this special event and really enjoyed meeting and chatting to some of our local veterans after the formal ceremony.

Parent Evening

Our Wellbeing team were thrilled with the attendance at our recent Body Awareness evening.

Parent feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and appreciative of the opportunity to participate with their children.

We had a wonderful mix of Mums, Dads, both parents and also whole families in attendance for all sessions. The presenter provided a great mix of age-appropriate information as well as chances for lovely interactions between parent and child.

We have booked a further session for 2023.

P&F Gala Night Out

I would like to sincerely thank Mel Kennedy Jessica Steele, Belinda Hyde, Mel Drago  and Nat Northey for the hours given to the planning of our parents.

This is the first time and 3 years that we have been able to run a fun night out.  Thankyou also for organising the silent auction that closed last night.  Mel did an amazing job amassing many donations for the auction and it has made  $7820!

Thank you ladies the fundraiser was a huge success raising approximately $1500.00.

The parent engagement with the school and parent connection with each other is amazing and I would like to sincerely thank every member of our P&F’s who are supporting each event so that funds can be raised for our students.

Year 6 Beaumaris North Archibald Prize

On Monday, the Year 6 students had the opportunity to view and appreciate all their creative masterpieces with the artist Geoff La Gerche. Geoff La Gerche has had a number of works hung in the Archibald Prize and his works often use the grid technique, which is the technique the year 6 students have used to create their self -portraits.He discussed how impressive all the  portraits are this year and how it will be difficult to choose the winners. This week whilst the Year 6 students are on camp the whole school will be voting to help with the final decision on the winners.

Year 6 Camp

Our Year 6 students are currently at camp.  During their time at camp the students experience a number of team and individual challenges including  the Giant Swing, Team Rescue, Disc Golf, Flying Fox, Swimming Pool, Archery, Low Ropes, Raft Building, Canoeing

The P&F are running our last fundraiser of the year on Saturday 26 November 2022.  We will be holding a BBQ and a Cake Stall.  Whilst it is a busy time of year we would love it if you could volunteer some of your time to help man the stall, if so please sign up here https://volunteersignup.org/KA3FK

We will also need our wonderful school community to get baking so we have some wonderful cakes, slices and biscuits to sell on the day.  More information will come out on this next week.

If you can’t volunteer on the day or bake something for us to sell then please come along to buy something on the day.  We will have egg and bacon rolls to start the day, sausages from mid-morning and delicious baked goods.
