Music Notes
Celebration Night, 24 November 2017
Nicole Bull, Academic Dean of Performing Arts
Congratulations to all our music students who participated in Celebration Night held on 24 November at Robert Blackwood Hall.
Some of the highlights included the Kilvington Orchestra, Concert Band, Krooners, Contemporary Choir, Years 4 - 6 Choir, the Kadences and the Years 4 – 11 performing the farewell song, When Will I See You? It was also wonderful to hear the energy and excitement behind the massed singing of Don’t Stop Me Now.
The night proved to be a true testament to the dedication, hard work and talent of all our music students.
Parents, friends and staff had the pleasure of watching our talented pianists perform a variety of pieces at the Piano Soiree held on 22 November.
We had students ranging from Prep right through to senior students, performing pieces at all levels.
Congratulations everyone for making this a most enjoyable evening!
On Tuesday 28 November, all the Year 2 students performed at the Year 2 String Concert.
The students have been learning a string instrument since the beginning of the year. The concert showed their ability to play and perform as an ensemble, both with melody and harmonies. It gave them the opportunity to play in front of their families and friends.
A special thanks to our classroom and string teachers for organising the concert.
On 29 November, students learning percussion and guitar performed a variety of pieces.
It was wonderful to see so many students enthusiastically playing drums, snare drums, marimba and classical and rock guitar in front of a large audience.
Congratulations everyone for a successful evening!

A special congratulations to Gianluca Kalms for achieving an A in his AMEB cello exam.
Well done Gianluca for your outstanding result!
Our Star of the Week goes to Sarah Godfrey in Year 10. Sarah performed the solo in the massed singing at Celebration Night and really captured the audience attention with her beautiful tone.
Well done Sarah!
