Foundation 100 Day Party

Last week, students in Foundation celebrated 100 days at school. The children participated in a number of activities to mark this occasion. They wrote greeting cards to one another, they practised making 100 in different ways, they played games incorporating literacy and numeracy skills learnt so far this year and they reminisced about school when they 'were little', 100 days ago. Most importantly, the children made an effort to interact and play with different friends. It was great to see how 'in control' students were of their emotions throughout the day, especially when playing games. A highlight of the day was eating delicious food prepared by the parents. The children's favourite was pizza made by Giuseppe & Sonia Colossimo. It was delicious! Here is what some of the children had to say about this special day:

"The chocolate cake had 100 Smarties on it!"Massimo

"When it was my turn to hit the pinata, I smacked it with a stick. In the pinata there were prizes."Alyssa

"When I hit the pinata, I tried my best. At the end when everyone hit it, toys came out."Ava

"When we played a boys V girls puzzle game, the winners were...the girls! We shook hands and said, "Better luck next time."Leah

"The food was yum!" Marco

"I whacked the pinata so hard and it didn't crack so I tried again." Steven
