First Communion
Congratulations to our Year 4 Eucharistic children and their families. Over the past two weekends the children celebrated and participated in the Sacrament of First Communion. During the Liturgy of the Eucharist the children with the support of their family, actively and fully participated in receiving the host and wine. Receiving 'Communion' and participating in the 'Communion Rite' the children were brought closer to Jesus and God and continued on their spiritual journey of life.
On behalf of Damian Howard and myself Rosalba Squarci and all the staff at St Raphael, we would like to extend a big thank you to all involved in making the two sacrament celebrations a wonderful and special experience for the children and their families. We would like to thank Fr Raffaele Rossi for his beautiful singing and playing the organ, to the 3/4 teachers; Marlene, Shane, Justin, Emma and Lauren for teaching and preparing the children for this sacrament, to the parents for their support and continued guidance in this spirit filled journey with their child, to our parishioners who continued to keep the children in their prayers throughout the weeks and finally a enormous thank you to Fr Benneth for all his continued support in ensuring that this Eucharistic celebration was one filled with sacred reverence and proclaiming Jesus' love.
In last weekends homily, Fr Benneth's asked us to reach out to Jesus, seek guidance from the Lord today and every day , be filled with spiritual success in our lives, continue to pray and receive Jesus through communion and to go out and proclaim his word.
Let all the Year 4 Eucharistic children continue to be filled with love, understanding, knowledge, unity and joy. God bless them today and everyday.
Thanks Giving Month of August
We would like to extend an invitation to all families at St Raphael's to join Fr Benneth for mass during the month of August, where as a community we will continue to pray for the sacramental children of our parish. Saturday service is at 6pm or Sunday at 10.30am.
Reconciliation Parents & Child Information Night
On Wednesday 16th of August at 7pm we will be running a workshop for Parents and children who will be receiving Reconciliation in 2017. The 'Family Participation' is part of the preparation for the children receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The workshop will focus on 'The Endless Mercy of God- Nothing is Beyond God's Mercy'. We will discuss how the Sacrament of Reconciliation calls us to make peace, forgive and to reconcile with others and God.
Feast Of The Assumption
Today we celebrated the feast of Mary the Mother of God and the first disciple of Jesus. Mary gave us an example of service which we try to live in our daily life and when we gather as a community to celebrate Eucharist. Mary is the mother of us all and through her example of faithfulness we gathered as believers in the name of her Son, Jesus Christ. It was wonderful to see many parents as well as our Parish Community attend mass.
Birthday
The staff and community at St Raphael would like to extend Fr Benneth a very Happy Birthday (10th August).
